What is Venetian Plaster & Polished Plaster, please explain the differences?
There is no difference between the two, merely a different word or term for the same product

Where can I use Venetian Plaster for my project?
Venetian Plaster can be used internally and externally. It is suitable to use on many surfaces such as walls, floors and ceilings. Our VP can also be used on curved surfaces like structural columns, arch or walk ways, staircases, fireplace walls and can be used one a single feature wall. The possibilities are endless.

Where can I use Micro Cement?
Micro Cement is suitable for wet areas including showers, splashbacks and is suitable to use on floors. It can also be applied to existing tiles which saves demolition costs and is good for the environment. Our micro cement provides a low maintenance alternative to tiles and is naturally resistant to mould.

Smooth Finishes

Polished Plaster
Our polished plaster is shiny and smooth to touch which has a pattern through the finish which is hand created by our craftsmen.

Hilldean
Hilldean is a velvety smooth polished plaster finish with subtle tonal variations.

Tide
Tide is a textured finish with that resembles the appearance of stone and concrete. It is a micro-cement finish with a lower impact environmentally

Cornwell
Cornwell is a matt suede finish and works beautifully in spaces that require more of a natural finish and aesthetic. The finish itself resembles a set hard plaster and at times, has been referred to as Marmarino or Carrera.

Textured Finishes
Brompton
Brompton is a thickly applied textured finish with a resemblance of weathered rocks. This is defined by its unique qualities and strong striations

Porter
Porter is a textured wall finish using various components like marble dust and can be incorporated with pearl wax and metallics

Bath
Organica is our signature raked finish with the appearance of organic natural texture or bamboo. This is a unique finish which can be applied in any colour

Guildford
Guildford is a bold textured finish that can be applied to create either vertical or horizontal layered texture through the finish. This gritty hand-created style resembles travertine stone.

Ashford
Ashford is a course textured finish which is hand created with a crater effect within the plaster. This can be left heavily textured or polished down to refine the texture.

Camberley
Camberley is a medium-textured pitted finished that resembles the appearance of limestone. This finish can be built up and can be used with a wide-range of custom-made colours to suit your needs.

Bowmore
Bowmore is a velvet textured finish which has a luxury aesthetic and can be created in a range of colours.

Luxton
Luxton comes in different textural forms but features metallics such as bronze and silver specks

Can Carlier & Co do other colours that aren’t in Carlier & Co’s colour chart?
Yes, we can create custom colours to suit your needs for your project. Our skilled craftsmen hand create colours based on the collaborative vision.

Can I order a sample of the textured finish and colour I’d like for my project?
We have a range of samples on display in our space. To view these, an appointment would need to be arranged via email. Samples can be provided for you to keep on hand once a project is confirmed by accepting your quote and your deposit has been paid.

Does Venetian Plaster crack or damage?
Cracks can at times appear through walls in Venetian or Polished Plaster. This can happen when the substrate is compromised. For example, when the plasterboard or sheeting as shifted. This is a structural item and the substrate would need to be repaired prior to our team coming out to commence our work. Depending on the level and complexity of the damage, our skilled team will review and will either be able to patch up or will need to redo the wall.

Do you do site visits?
Yes, we certainly do. Our team love to come out to meet and hear about your vision, and can visit your space or site. Please contact our team via email to arrange a site visit at a mutually suitable time.
